Vielleicht

Vielleicht (2022) explores questions of Afro-descendant identity, colonial memory, and repair within European urban spaces. It documents the mobilizations of African and Afro-German associations working to change three street names honoring colonizers in Berlin’s “African Quarter,” intertwining this with (auto)biographical narratives performed by actors Cédric Djedje and Safi Martin Yé. Premiered at the Grütli in November 2022, the production has accumulated more than fifty performances in eleven theatres.
